Anchorage Airport Information

Airport Terminal Information
The airport is comprised of two separate terminal halls connected by an indoor walkway. The South Terminal is larger and handles the bulk of domestic arrivals and departures. All international flights arrive at and depart from the smaller North Terminal. Each terminal has its own baggage claim area. Arriving passengers can meet their party at curb side on the lower levels of each terminal hall. The airport has several VIP lounges, currency exchange booths, numerous shops and restaurants, and a lost & found claim area.

Getting To The Airport
From downtown Anchorage, drivers take "L" Street southbound. This street passes by West Chester Lagoon and becomes Minnesota Drive. Minnesota Drive intersects International Airport Road. Drivers turn right on International Airport Road and travel west to the airport entrance roadway. Drivers approaching from the south can take the Seward Highway north to the O'Malley interchange and head west on O'Malley. This street eventually turns northward and becomes Minnesota Drive. Drivers take a left off of Minnesota Drive onto International Airport Road.

Parking And Ground Transportation
Each terminal has a short-term parking garage located directly in front of the terminal hall. A long-term parking lot is located adjacent to the South Terminal short-term parking garage. Drivers meeting their arriving party can also wait at the cell phone lot. This lot is located on International Airport Road just north of the airport grounds.

The Anchorage People Mover public transportation buses stop at both the North and South airport terminals. Passengers can travel directly downtown or make connections to the eastern or southern suburban areas. A free airport shuttle operates between the North and South terminal halls, employee parking lot, and rental car facility. Taxis form queues at curb side in front of both terminal buildings. Limousine rentals are by reservation only and will pick up passengers at curb side in front of either terminal building. The rental car center is located across from the South Terminal. A free shuttle takes passengers to and from the rental car center to both of the airport terminals.
