The Kansas City International Airport is located just over fifteen miles north of downtown Kansas City, Missouri on Interstate 29. It is the primary airport serving the entire Kansas City Metropolitan Area.
KCI consists of three runways that serve approximately 150 commercial and cargo flights each day. Over 10 million passengers pass through the airport each year.
Kansas City International was designed with three separate and unconnected terminals. Each terminal is on a single level shaped like the letter "C". Passengers may enter the terminal directly at the gate of their chosen flight. Travelers should make sure that they park near the correct terminal and enter the correct side of the terminal corresponding to their flight's gate number. There are no moving walkways inside the terminals and there is quite a distance from one end of a terminal to another. The only way to get from one terminal to another terminal is to walk or wait for one of the shuttles that take passengers between the three separate terminals.
