Directions To Minneapolis-Saint Paul Airport

Minneapolis-St Paul Airport is a major international airport that largely serves the Minneapolis-St. Paul area and surrounding communities.  Regardless of where someone is coming from in the area, there are convenient ways of getting to the airport.

For most people in the area, the best way to get to the airport would be to drive.  Those that are coming from the Minneapolis CBD will find that the best way to get to the airport would be to take I-35 west to Minnesota State Highway 55.  When approaching the airport, you will then merge onto US Highway 5, which will then take you directly into the Lindbergh Terminal.  Without traffic, the entire travel time will take about 15 minutes.

Travelers that are coming from the St Paul CBD will find that the best way to get to the airport would be to take I-35 E to Highway 55.  Drivers can then merge onto Highway 5, which will take them directly into the terminal.  The total travel time to St Paul normally will take less than 20 minutes.

For travelers that are coming from Edina, Bloomington, or any other suburban community to the south of the city, the best way to get to the airport would be to take Interstate 35 to Interstate 494.  From there, a driver can connect directly to US Highway 5, which will take them into the airport.  Travelers that are coming from the north side of the city will have to take Interstate 94 south through the city and then connect to 494 and follow the same route into the airport.

The airport also has several ground transportation option for travelers.  Two different light-rail train lines are operated out of the airport and can be used to connect to both downtown Minneapolis and St Paul.  Several bus lines also run to the airport, which can be used to connect to a much more expansive area of the city.
