Norman Mineta San Jose Airport Transportation

The Mineta San Jose Airport is accessible via taxis, some 50 door-to-door shuttles, some 35 hotel shuttles, and some 150 limousine for-hire companies. Taxi companies include Orange, All Star, Alpha, American, California, Checker, City, Green, Metro, Rainbow, United and Yellow. Wherever you are in the San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose-Santa Clara area, you can combine city buses and light rail to reach the airport.

The key to navigating to the airport is to link up with the VTA Airport Flyer. This bus is managed by the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority. You can catch the VTA Airport Flyer from many locations, and it links to all area transportation sources. The Airport Flyer originates from the Metro Light Rail Station. If you are near a light rail line, you can easily catch the Airport Flyer. The light rail lines include the Santa Teresa to Alum Rock light rail line, Mountain View to Winchester light rail line, and the Almaden to Ohlone/Chynoweth light rail line. The San Jose area has many commuter buses, express buses, and community buses that can link you to light rail.

The VTA Airport Flyer also links to the CalTrain. This makes it easy to come from as far away as San Francisco, Palo Alto and other CalTrain stops. The VTA Flyer can link you to BART, which serves the San Francisco and Oakland Airports, Milbrae, Dale City, West Oakland, Richmond, Pittsburg, Bay Point, Dublin, Pleasanton, Fremont and many stations in between. From the Bay Area, you can take BART light rail to the Fremont Station. From there, take the VTA #180 Express bus to the Civic Center. Catch light rail and take it to the Metro Light Rail Station where you can catch the VTA Airport Flyer.

From Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley, and Aptos, you can catch the Santa Cruz Airport Flyer to the airport. From Monterrey, you can catch the Monterrey Airbus to the Mineta San Jose Airport.
